Data Transformation Lead

Mentmore is currently recruiting for a Data Transformation Lead for our client, a global organisation who are undertaking a large-scale implementation programmes. They are looking to bring on board an experienced Data Transformation Lead with extensive experience of data engineering, analytics, SQL and big data warehouses (Snowflake).

Role: This role is both strategic leadership whilst balancing the day to day needs of the Bus.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for implementing the data engineering strategy to cover the EMEA/IHQ Business Units (BUs).
  • Ensure both strategic leadership and balancing the day to day needs of the BUs
  • Responsible to manage data ingestion projects together with the architecture teams
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Optimise data systems, build from scratch and educate others on the value of data and how it will support the business use cases.
  • Creation of analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation of data
  • Building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Snowflake/SAP HANA).
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Ensuring that the EPOS data pipelines are running well and that the project to move vendors is well managed and communicated
  • Work closely with partners in the finance teams and help drive data governance.
  • Run projects to improve and drive consolidation of financial reporting; incl. influencing CFOs and drive adoption of best practices and tools.


Required skills:

  • 6+ years’ experience in a data or analytics delivery role for a well-established organisation
  • Excellent working SQL knowledge and good experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Snowflake/SAP HANA).
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Solid working experience using various software/tools such as: Relational SQL and NoSQL databases etc.
  • Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
